Crisis Response – Israel News

Israel at War – Updates from September 19, 2024

Israel is still facing rocket attacks every single day. On the weekend of September 13th, Israel once again faced enemies on multiple fronts. Three enemy rockets exploded in open areas in the Galilee Panhandle and an anti-tank missile hit a building in Metula. While Israel is approaching the 1-year anniversary of the October 7 attacks, everyone in Israel – from small children to the elderly – is a target.

Friends and family attend the funeral of slain hostage Hersch Goldberg Polin at Har haMenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem. Goldberg-Polin was killed in Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip, September 2, 2024.

As Israel and her people endure unimaginable heartbreak and unprecedented attacks, The Fellowship has been supporting them with food, bomb shelters and other security measures, and more – and we’re committed to continuing that support.

During this time of crisis, we urgently need your help.

Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran have fired tens of thousands of rockets at Israel, displaced hundreds of thousands of Israelis, and torn entire communities apart. It has been a long fight … and it doesn’t seem likely to end soon.

Your gift today can help us provide the much-needed resources to Jews who depend on us for critical humanitarian aid.

The Fellowship’s Impact

The Fellowship is assessing needs daily, as we are receiving an overwhelming number of requests for aid. Along with the day-to-day aid we deliver regularly to Jewish people in need, we are delivering aid to populations hardest-hit by this crisis, including:

· Evacuees from war-torn areas, who were forced to leave their homes

· First responders and volunteers who need medical equipment

· Elderly beneficiaries, families, and new olim (immigrants), who need necessities like food, water, medical equipment, and psychological counseling to deal with trauma

Since October 7, 2023, The Fellowship has disbursed more than $101 million in aid to support the ongoing emergency needs and to continue to provide assistance in our core program areas of security, poverty, and aliyah, supporting beneficiaries impacted by the war and ongoing conflict. This includes those most heavily affected–the evacuees, the wounded, and the first responders.

Help Israel Now with Your Donation

In these difficult times, every donation, big or small, contributes to a larger impact, giving hope to those facing the horrors of war.

Your donation today could provide an essential food box and lifesaving aid to a Jewish person in need. Every blessing is a way to ease the burdens of those in need in Israel and her people during this moment of uncertainty—a way to share what we have with those who have lost everything.
