A 50-year-old and a 23-year-old were wounded in a terror stabbing attack at a hotel in Kibbutz Tzuba. The Jerusalem Post reports that injuries ranged from moderate to critical. The attacker was identified as the hotel’s dishwasher and a resident of the Shuafat refugee camp. He was apprehended by an off-duty police officer visiting the hotel with his family.

“I was at a family event at the hotel when I noticed a crowd rushing out. I immediately realized something unusual was happening, so I shouted for people to stay calm and walk instead of running. I drew my gun, grabbed identification for myself, and ran toward the direction the crowd had fled from,” the officer recalled of the attack.

“To minimize the risk to remaining civilians, I subdued the terrorist using only physical force, not gunfire. With the help of some others, we managed to pin him to the ground and put him in handcuffs.”

MDA (Magen David Adom) provided first aid to the victims before they were evacuated to Hadassah-University Medical Center. Israel Police also arrested three additional suspects with a connection to the attack. After the Jerusalem terror attack this week, Border Police from the Mateh Yehuda are also operating in the area.

The people of Israel are already grieving in the wake of a week marked by devastating terror. Just as some healing is being done, another horrific instance of hate presents itself. The Fellowship and our generous supporters give tirelessly to Jewish families and victims of war and terror. We extend our prayers to the victims and their families, and also to the brave bystanders, such as the off-duty police officer, who put themselves in harm’s way to save their neighbors.
