JNS reports that the IDF struck a site in Hezbollah’s fire and defense network in the Beaufort Ridge region of Southern Lebanon. Weapons and underground infrastructure belonging to the terrorist group were the intended targets. This comes a day after the IDF eliminated two Hezbollah terrorists in Kfar Remen. The day prior to that, the IDF also took out a senior Hezbollah member.
“The terrorists’ activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” said the IDF, referring to the Nov. 27, 2024, ceasefire deal that ended more than a year of war.
The situation in Lebanon remains volatile following the end of the truce on Feb. 18. Hezbollah began launching missiles and drones at the Jewish state a day after the Hamas-led massacre on Oct. 7, 2023.
The Lebanese government agreed in September to disarm the Iran-backed terror group in the southern region within three months. The IDF still controls five outposts there and says it will continue to do so until the Lebanese army shows it can maintain security. Hezbollah leadership has said that the terror group plans to defy the plan to disarm and will continue fighting.
