Following a drone attack on Eilat by the Yemen-based terror group, The Jerusalem Post reports that the Israel Air Force carried out strikes on Houthi infrastructure in what was the largest and furthest series of air strikes in Sanaa. About 20 IAF fighter jets traveled 2,200 kilometers with more than 65 munitions as opposed to the average 20 to 50 usually used.
There were seven different targets, including five Houthi military bases and two large weapons storage sites, relating to drones, ballistic missiles, and other items, the IDF said.
This was the IAF’s 15th attack against the Houthis.
Among the targets struck were the Houthis’ General Staff control headquarters, security and intelligence facilities, the headquarters of their military propaganda unit, and other military camps where weapons and personnel were located, the IDF said.
The IDF published videos and photos of the headquarters and military camps that were hit, detailing the impact on the Houthis.
Defense Minister Israel Katz called the strikes a part of Operation ‘Pass the Parcel’ with the main goal of deterring the terror group in Yemen from firing on Israel. The Houthi drone strikes in Eilat had struck a hotel and wounded 48 people. The IDF revealed that two errors in the air defenses led to the drones breaching them at the time.
This also comes a week after the IDF struck Houthi targets in a significant Yemen Port in retaliation for the attack on the Ramon Airport. The fight against and to deter Houthis is one of several struggles in Israel’s multi-front war against terror coming from all sides.
