In the aftermath of an Iranian rocket strike on the southern city of Dimona during the war, The Fellowship was on the scene with staff and resources to assist displaced elderly residents, families, and children. This support also included additional search and rescue kits for first responders—many of whom are local volunteers committed to saving lives in their communities.

Our President and Global CEO, Yael Eckstein, visited these first responders.

“These volunteers aren’t normally equipped with everything they need to deal with a rescue situation like this. And there’s no timing like God’s timing. A week before this happened, right here in Dimona, The Fellowship was here and delivered the first responder kits to these local heroes,” she said, “And when the ballistic missile from Iran struck, they had exactly what they needed to save lives.”

The rescue kits contain essential tools for navigating disaster zones and providing immediate care to survivors. Their response begins the moment a blast is heard. As soon as a missile strikes, they put on their vests, grab their kits, get into their vehicles, and head straight to the scene.

“We were the first responders here,” said Naftali, “We were doing search and rescue – going through each and every house taking out the elderly, the children, minor injuries, and massive injuries. They say you rescue at night and you assess in the morning. It (the search and rescue kit) helped immensely, it’s like a mobile emergency trailer.”

Naftali and fellow first responder Yohay expressed their deepest gratitude to The Fellowship and its generous donors, whose support made it possible to distribute rescue kits not only in Dimona, but across Israel during this time of crisis.

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me”
