Hope in a Public Bomb Shelter
The Fellowship | June 20, 2024
“I start crying when I hear the code red siren.” That’s what the siblings sheltering in a public shelter near the northern border told us as they sought protection from Hezbollah terrorist rockets. The Fellowship helps families like these forced to hide in public bomb shelters by providing Emergency Shelter Kits.
These kits are filled with critical necessities, like food, water, as well as children’s games to help distract them from the danger.
The grandmother, who’s watching over the children says the hardest part is having to hear the sirens and watch the children scream and cry with fear. She tells us they feel completely alone, and the situation is unbearable.
But when Yael visited this family in the shelter, delivering an Emergency Shelter Kit, the children lit up with smiles. This is why your support on the ground in Israel during wartime is so important. Without you, these children would be left to fear the rockets alone. But with your help, we strengthen Israelis—bringing hope and light—during war.
