Pakistani mediators have been working to extend ceasefire agreements between the U.S. and Iran, as ongoing peace talks have yet to yield results. The Jerusalem Post reports that both American and Iranian officials have denied claims that an extension is imminent. However, Iranian state media has announced that a Pakistani delegation is communicating with the U.S. to initiate a second round of talks

This comes after U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday stated that there is a lot of distrust between the US and Iran that can not be resolved “overnight,” during a Turning Point USA event.

Vance also noted that, despite the trust issues, he feels “very good” about where the US is at the moment, and he asserted that Iranian negotiators wanted to make a deal.

He also emphasized the significance of last weekend’s talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, as a diplomatic step that “had never happened before.”

Meanwhile, a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon is expected to be announced tonight. According to Lebanese news sources, the agreement will last one week and conclude at the same time as the current ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. This comes as the U.S. is reportedly preparing to send thousands of additional troops to the Middle East and has enacted a blockade of Iranian ports.

After more than 40 days of fighting, these agreements offer the people of Israel some temporary respite. The Fellowship and our supporters continue to pray for a peaceful resolution across all fronts in the Holy Land, and that these temporary ceasefires will lead to more lasting stability.
