Hopeful in the Face of Hatred

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  January 19, 2017
A planned neo-Nazi march in Montana this past weekend was a reminder that blatant anti-Semitism is still alive today. And it reminds us all, as people who believe in the same God of peace and love, that we must join together to fight hatred and injustice.

A Prayer for Peace

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  January 12, 2017
This weekend's upcoming "peace summit" in Paris is overshadowed by the United Nations' recent anti-Israel resolution and last week's terrorist attack that killed four IDF cadets. For there to truly be peace, the Palestinians' – and the world's – ongoing hostility toward the Jewish state must change.

God Is Our Refuge and Strength

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  January 5, 2017
This new year will be filled with great challenges – the U.N.'s anti-Israel actions, uncertain relations between Israel and the U.S., and rising anti-Semitism around the world. But I am inspired not only by the good that The Fellowship and our generous supporters are doing, but by our faith in a loving God who never forsakes His children.

Friends of Israel – Let Your Support Be Known!

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  December 29, 2016
In his speech on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry put even more distance between the United States and its greatest ally – Israel.

U.N. Resolution – A Rallying Cry to Stand for Israel

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  December 27, 2016
Let us be strong and courageous. God has not forsaken His people. We must remain as certain of Israel's future as we are of her past. That past is a story written by God Himself – and the future, too, is in God hands.

Be Led Forth in Peace

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  December 15, 2016
As 2016 draws to a close, we look back on a year marked by challenges, but also much good. And pray for a coming year of peace and prosperity, and in the hope of glimpsing a new, redeemed era, in which Isaiah says, ...

Aliyah, Aliyah, Aliyah

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  December 8, 2016
I once asked Ariel Sharon what the three most important things are that The Fellowship can do for Israel. His response was: "Aliyah, aliyah, aliyah." While we have been involved in bringing Jewish people home to Israel for more than 20 years, The Fellowship has opened a new chapter in our contribution to immigration and absorption in Israel, efforts which could not have been successful without you.

Prayers for One of Israel's Founding Fathers

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  September 15, 2016
The thoughts and prayers of Israelis and those who stand for Israel are with Shimon Peres, whose political career has spanned almost the entire life of the modern Jewish state. This week, at the age of 93, Peres suffered a massive stroke. May this inspirational statesman and servant continue to bless us with his gifts and presence.

One Nation, Under God

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  June 30, 2016
The United States – like Israel – is built upon principles of democracy, freedom, faith, and the rule of law. This July 4, let us remember those whose service and sacrifice made our country great, and let us lift prayers of gratitude to God for His blessings.

The Last Full Measure of Their Devotion

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  May 26, 2016
Memorial Day weekend in the U.S. can be a time of mixed feelings. On the one hand, it's the unofficial beginning of summer. On the other hand, for those mourning the loss in war of a close relative or loved one, there is a deep and personal sense of grief, mingled with pride for their service.

Speechless in the Face of Violence

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  October 8, 2015
They were all just driving home – Eitam and Naama Henkin from a class reunion, Alexander Levlovitz from a Rosh Hashanah meal, Malachi Rosenfeld from a basketball game with friends, and Danny Gonen from a weekend hike. They were normal Israelis going about their day-to-day life, none of them aware that they would be among the latest victims in a long string of senseless killings at the hands of Palestinian terrorists.

Hope in Something Higher

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  April 2, 2015
In the past few months, our attention has been focused on several shocking and deeply disturbing events in the world around us — the depravity and cruelty of the ISIS terrorist group as it continues its murderous march across the Middle East, the precipitous rise of anti-Semitism in Europe, and Iran's continued pursuit of nuclear weapons and the seeming failure of the international community to stop it.
