Today marks the three-year anniversary since the war in Ukraine started on February 24, 2022. When the war began, The Fellowship was on the ground helping with the immediate needs as people feared for their lives and millions fled the country.

Our ministry was able to assist quickly and efficiently because we had always been very active all throughout the former Soviet Union (FSU) for years, delivering care and basic needs to Jewish communities who came to rely on us.

During war, it’s been no different. As more people suffer from increasing prices, displacement, and widespread trauma due to war, YOU are here for the Jewish people. We want to thank you, our faithful supporters for always standing by the Jewish people and providing much-needed care in times of crisis.

In the First Year of War

In the first year of the war, we provided over $28 million in emergency humanitarian aid to Ukraine and other countries in the region affected by the war. That means together we provided food, water, medicine, warm clothing, housing, and other basic needs and services:

Thanks to you, we helped approximately 80,000 displaced persons and refugees with basic needs such as food, medicine, and temporary housing in Ukraine and in neighboring countries…

We evacuated 50 elderly with severe medical conditions on special medical rescue flights thanks to YOU…

We assisted in the evacuation of more than 1,600 children and staff from children’s homes and orphanages in Ukraine, thanks to YOU…

We arranged for 7 planes to carry 95 tons of humanitarian aid to refugees and stranded Ukrainians in the first two months of the war – all thanks to you!

Your Ongoing Care for Ukraine

But the war didn’t stop after one year. So our efforts continue today. Your ongoing care means that:

We’ve brought about 6,336 Jews home through our aliyah (immigrate to Israel) program to escape war-torn Ukraine…

Together, we help 42,000 people receive basic needs such as food, medicine, housing, clothing each year….

And each year we reach out to God’s precious children, helping 3,600 children in 10 schools receive food and transportation assistance. And 1,000 children in 4 children’s homes receive support and basic needs…

And as so many face a harsh and freezing winter in the FSU, we make sure that 18,000 people have access to warming hubs and generator-supplied heating and electricity across 23 communities in Ukraine every year…

Thank YOU for all the support and prayers you’ve provided for the Jewish community in Ukraine and throughout the former Soviet Union! And we ask for your continued support and prayers as it is still uncertain when the war will come to an end – and we pray that God watches over His precious people.
