The Negev-Nahalat Eran Hospital is a groundbreaking facility as the first and only medical facility in southern Israel with specialized rehabilitation treatment for people with mental and physical disabilities – offering care, education, and even employment opportunities for them and their families. During the war, the hospital helped treat countless IDF soldiers and injured civilians. A grant given by The Fellowship in 2024 has helped expand their facility, and this month, those additions have opened.
The grant helped fund a third rehabilitation department with 36 beds. 72 beds were also added in the neurological and orthopedic department. Fellowship staff attended the rehabilitation department’s dedication ceremony on August 5 as it was named in honor of Fellowship founder Rabbi Eckstein, z”l. Staff were also joined by Fellowship U.S. CEO Robin Van Etten while she was visiting Israel.
She said at the ceremony, “Why we come here on earth, regardless of religion, is to learn unconditional love, and I think that is what we’re trying to represent here.”
The ceremony concluded outside of the new rehabilitation department with a ribbon cutting. Staff and directors at Negev-Nahalat Eran Hospital send their deepest thanks to The Fellowship and its donors for showing such support and unconditional love for people in need.
