Bishop Paul Lanier, The Fellowship’s Chairman of the Board, shares about his visit to Seoul with The Fellowship to build bridges of faith, and he explains how God is using our fellowship so profoundly.

Have you ever been to a church with 200 people?

It can feel large, and you can feel small. But what about a church of 500 members? That’s very different.

I’ve been to churches with 700 members! But I’ve never been to a church with over 700,000 members.

I was in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, home of the largest megachurch in the world, Yoido Full Gospel Church.

When you study Korea, especially over the past 50 years or so, you see that the Korean people have been one of the premier champions of the spiritual disciplines of praying with passion and fasting so fervently.

Seoul has opened so many doors for us to be able to experience the most wonderful prayer and fasting. It’s something very powerful.

I’ve learned so much about my own relationship with God because of the Korean people and their church.

But I wanted to take just a moment and tell you that The Fellowship is a growing global movement around the world — the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews that you are a part of.

Inside The World’s Largest Church

Just days ago, I was inside the sanctuary and there were hundreds of parents in there praying and calling out to the Lord. You know why? It’s testing season in schools and they’re praying for their children!

This ministry was founded many years ago by Pastor Yong-gi Cho, and started with just a few people worshiping together. Just a few people – until it grew into the world’s largest church. And they are becoming increasingly passionate about Israel.

I was privileged to sit at the table with the current pastor, one of the most humble, kind, and gentle souls I’ve ever met. We had the most wonderful time talking about the goodness and the greatness of God and the role of Israel in our faith.

Building Bridges in Faith

This was a special moment in Seoul, where I was with Fellowship leaders to build bridges of faith and partnership. And I wanted to tell you that God is using you so profoundly.

He’s extending and expanding and multiplying you. Even when, sometimes it can feel like you are a little nobody doing a little nothing.

God’s doing something wonderful in the United States with Christians and Jews. God is doing something extraordinary in Israel. God is doing something amazing in Korea.

You’re a part of something that’s extraordinary. And that’s remarkable.
