The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews Mobilizes Emergency Aid as Threat of Iranian Attacks on Israel Intensifies
February 25, 2026
JERUSALEM (February 26, 2026) — As escalating tensions between the United States and Iran raise the threat of missile fire on Israel, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (The Fellowship) has activated emergency preparedness operations in recent weeks in order to provide immediate, lifesaving assistance to Israeli citizens.
The Fellowship’s teams are in direct coordination with representatives of local authorities, food security organizations, security and rescue forces, hospitals, and additional partner agencies to assess urgent needs and ensure rapid deployment of critical aid.
Following ongoing situational assessments, The Fellowship has already taken the following emergency readiness measures:
Mobile Bomb Shelter Deployment
- Immediate readiness for deployment of 13 mobile bomb shelters, including:
- Five “Arbel” shelters equipped with heavy steel doors designed to provide optimal protection against impact and shrapnel in the event of ballistic missile strikes.
- Eight additional mobile shelters.
- Plans to purchase and deploy dozens more shelters in accordance with Home Front Command guidelines, particularly in communities lacking protected spaces.
Hospital Emergency Preparedness
- Preparedness for rapid transition from routine to emergency operations in hospitals nationwide.
- Support for the protected underground hospital at Rambam Medical Center, which The Fellowship partnered in establishing.
- Assistance to Galilee Medical Center in preparing 300 hospitalization beds in its protected facility and the donation of a mobile X-ray machine.
Food Security and Emergency Distribution
- Thousands of food packages prepared in partnership with the ESHEL Chabad Food Bank.
- Dozens of food packages delivered to elderly residents in recent days in anticipation of possible emergency conditions.
- A reserve of approximately 1,500 food purchase cards ready for immediate distribution through municipal welfare departments to families whose homes are damaged or who are evacuated during missile attacks.
Equipment for First Responders
- 380 first aid kits prepared for distribution to local authorities in accordance with Home Front Command guidelines.
- Each tactical kit includes rescue tools, personal protective equipment, medical supplies, lighting, and scene management equipment to enable initial response until security forces arrive.
- Distribution of 1,000 bulletproof vests and helmets to volunteers of United Hatzalah. Vests include ceramic protective plates and are distributed according to operational need, ensuring volunteers can safely respond to emergency calls in high-risk areas.
- The Fellowship Forward Command Vehicle has been equipped and deployed to assist at destruction sites, providing immediate humanitarian support to security and rescue personnel operating in the field.
Elderly Evacuation Support
- Dozens of Fellowship-donated transportation vehicles prepared to evacuate elderly residents, including individuals with disabilities, to protected reception centers if necessary.
The above emergency preparations build upon The Fellowship’s extensive, ongoing security and humanitarian aid infrastructure across Israel, including:
- Hundreds of mobile bomb shelters already deployed nationwide
- Bulletproof vehicles delivered to local security officers
- Ballistic vests and helmets distributed to security and rescue forces
- Bulletproof ambulances and mobile intensive care units donated to Magen David Adom
- Emergency kits from Latet (food bank) distributed to bomb shelters
- Firefighting trailers donated to security officers in communities along the confrontation line
“In the face of a possible crisis, The Fellowship does not wait. We and our partners act immediately, keeping the security and essential needs of the Jewish people at the forefront,” said Yael Eckstein, President and Global CEO of the Fellowship. “This level of readiness would not be possible without our generous donors, for whom we and our partners alike extend our deepest thanks,” she added.
Since October 7, 2023 The Fellowship has committed $300 million in aid to support the ongoing emergency needs in Israel and to continue providing assistance in our core program areas – everything from prepacked emergency food, water, equipment for first responders and security personnel, to aliyah support of olim and other needy populations impacted by the war and ongoing conflict.
