Our President and Global CEO Yael Eckstein joined Glenn Beck to talk about what she has been seeing and experiencing with the people of Israel as the conflict with Iran rages on in its third week:
Having the ballistic rockets being launched at our home and being in the middle of the night, woken up with a siren. An air raid siren outside that’s sounding and our phones that are beeping and needing to grab my 10-year-old and we have a minute until the rocket lands to get into the shelter. That’s the intense reality.
But what I really see is the suffering of the people on the ground and I see the hope, and I’ll give you an example. Yesterday, I was out delivering meals to Holocaust survivors because a lot of the elderly here in Israel –their caretakers aren’t showing up because of the war. So, after nine days of war, they don’t have any food in their cabinets and no one to make them any food and they’re literally going hungry. The Fellowship is distributing meals to elderly across Israel.
I was at the home a 94-year-old woman who was actually blind, Holocaust survivor, and I was giving her the meals and sitting with her, and she was telling me that I was her first visitor since the war began. As she was telling me how much it meant to her to not be alone, a siren went off.
