Thankfully, there is a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, so missiles have stopped for now. But during the more than 10-day period of constant attacks from Iran, many Israelis were vulnerable. But thanks to faithful friends, we helped families like Michal’s rebuild from the ashes—with dignity, faith, and hope.

Everything Was Dust and Fire’

When the Iranian missile struck, Michal and her family had just made it into their shelter—except for her father.

“We were sitting next to the phone, waiting for the alarm. So when the alarm went off, we hurried inside the shelter. But my father missed it by seconds,” Michal recalls. “We heard this huge sound—it was something I cannot even describe.”

Emerging from the shelter, Michal stepped into total destruction. “Everything was dust and fire. I could not see anything. I screamed their names—my mother, my father. I saw my father just standing there, in shock, bleeding a little. But he was okay,” said Michal.

Both her home and her brother’s were destroyed. “I tried to walk through my brother’s house, just to see if everyone was alive. Thankfully, everyone is okay. But then I turned my head and saw—everything was destroyed. Not just my house. Everything.”

All around her, people were trapped in shelters. Children were crying. First responders rushed in. “The screaming started from everywhere—‘Help! How?’”

Michal has seen war before. But this, she says, is different. “I have never seen something like this.”

Thanks to the support of faithful Christians around the world, Michal and her family received emergency aid. “We need to be strong, and we need to rise up and think about the new tomorrow that we are hoping to have. So with the anger and with pain and loss, there is hope. And, this is Israel,” she said.

Your support brings dignity, comfort, and hope to Michal–and thousands like her in Israel and around the world.
