This year, for Rosh Hashanah, The Fellowship approved a grant for clothing cards that are being distributed to orphanages and women shelters in Israel. The Fellowship received a letter of thanks from Kfar Sitrin Orphanage in northern Israel this week:
There are good deeds that touch the pocket, and there are good deeds that touch the heart. Then there are special deeds, like those of The Fellowship, that touch both the pocket and the heart, and, above all – the soul. We wish to express our deep and sincere gratitude to The Fellowship for your ongoing support, generous giving, and genuine care for the students in our boarding program.
The fact that The Fellowship continues, time and again, to provide the students with purchase vouchers which enable them to purchase clothing and personal items, goes far beyond mere material assistance. It is an expression of care, respect, and attentiveness to the individual needs of each student. It is The Fellowship’s way of telling them: “We see you, we are thinking of you, and you are important to us.”
For the students living in the orphanage, the opportunity to choose their own clothing and the personal items they need addresses not only a practical necessity but also fosters a sense of independence, security, belonging, and self-respect. Sometimes, it is precisely the things we take for granted that make the biggest difference for them.
Thank you to The Fellowship for your open hearts, your outstretched hands, and your ceaseless generosity. Thank you for not settling for mere words, but for transforming your care into tangible actions that reach the students directly and make a real difference in their daily lives. May The Fellowship continue to serve as faithful agents of kindness, spreading light and joy, and being partners in more and more good deeds. May The Fellowship be blessed with an abundance of blessings and success, robust health, contentment, and fulfillment, and may The Fellowship always see the blessed fruits of its hard work and generosity.
