For soldiers and civilians alike, security can make the difference between life and death. Those traveling on Israel’s open roads are especially vulnerable to attacks. Because of this, armored vehicles have become a necessity, especially since October 7, 2023. In fact, an armored ambulance provided critical cover for IDF soldiers in the West Bank last week during a gunfight that left two soldiers dead, allowing others to fight back.
The Fellowship has provided hundreds of armored vehicles to first responders and security forces in Israel since October 7, and many more in the years prior. These vehicles range from trucks and ambulances to utility vehicles, some of which help save lives during the horrific attacks.
Eshkol Region Chief Security Officer Keith Elan Isaacson was driving one of these vehicles on the morning of October 7 when rockets began falling and Hamas terrorists infiltrated the border. Instead of retreating, Isaacson got into his armored truck and drove toward the danger.
Isaacson heard bullets striking the sides of his vehicle as two heavily armed groups opened fire on him with assault rifles. But he didn’t take his foot off the gas. He kept pushing forward, taking the fight directly to the terrorists. Thanks to the armored vehicle provided by The Fellowship and our donors, Isaacson was able to help save many lives and fight the attackers.
Isaacson said to Fellowship staff and a visiting delegation of pastors, “This is the only reason I’m alive. To everyone that is helping The Fellowship, I just want to say thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.”
