The Fellowship Is a Lifeline

It is a challenge to immigrate to a new country and start a new life, and Hana did all this when she was a young child. She found herself in a new culture and place. Now 77 years old, this elderly woman who was born in Morocco knows no other life other than her biblical homeland.
But old age has caught up to her and she suffers with diabetes, back pain, and has trouble walking. Recently, she fell, to make matters worse – and worries she might have to have surgery.
Amid all of Hana’s health concerns, she also has financial concerns. She tells us something truly heartbreaking: “It’s very hard for me because I can’t help my children and grandchildren. I have seven children, and I can’t even afford to buy them birthday gifts.”
She tells us she worked hard all her life but barely saved enough money for retirement. That’s why The Fellowship’s support allows her to live with dignity. We bring her monthly food packages which are a lifeline. And Hana is so grateful. “Every time I receive a package, it feels like a holiday to me,” Hana says. “I’m deeply grateful to all the wonderful people at The Fellowship.”
