A childhood dream came true for 32-year-old Aleksandra. She will finally be reuniting with her brothers and family in Israel after making aliyah (immigrating to Israel) with The Fellowship.
Since childhood, Aleksandra tells us that she always dreamed that she and her brothers would one day live in Israel. The siblings felt a strong connection to the Jewish community in Uzbekistan, which is in the former Soviet Union. “My brothers and I shared a dream — that one day we would live in Israel, on our land, among our people. Back then, it seemed distant and almost like a fairytale — but a beautiful, powerful one,” says Aleksandra.
She says her brothers made aliyah years ago, but Aleksandra stayed behind to care for her aging mother. Then she got married to her husband and started a family. “While I was pregnant with our second daughter, my husband and I finally made the decision: it was time. Israel was waiting for us.”
However, right when they planned to go, the atrocities of October 7, 2023, happened and flights were cancelled. So again, Aleksanda stayed behind, and had her second daughter.
Today, at last, Aleksandra and her husband and children are finally making aliyah with The Fellowship. “Thank you to The Fellowship,” says Aleksandra. “You didn’t just help us move — you gave us hope. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and warmth. Without you, this dream might have never come true.”
