School bags and other supplies are sadly out of reach for some Israeli children, including olim (immigrant) children whose families often arrive in Israel with so little money that they must forego school supplies altogether. But a child’s education should never be compromised, as The Fellowship makes clear with our never-ending support for all children in Israel.
The Fellowship commissioned a survey with the Geocartography Group that looked at parents of school-aged children living in northern Israel and border communities to find out how war has impacted their ability to send their kids to school. The main findings were that 38% of parents expect to cut back on expenses like school trips and other extracurricular activities, and 17% are planning to reduce basic expenses for school like supplies and bags.
This year, The Fellowship is helping Israeli children, including children of olim, start the 2025 school year off right. We’ve provided grants for school bags and other essential supplies to hundreds of needy Israeli children. We also funded a summer camp for olim children that provides grade school students requiring special preparation for school in Israel with Hebrew courses and activities.
Aid such as this would not have been possible without The Fellowship’s generous supporters. Education can provide a way for children to escape poverty. Give today and help prepare Israel’s children for a better and brighter future.
