She’s Not Alone
The Fellowship | July 24, 2024
“I heard my neighbor screaming.”
That’s 86-year-old Alla, who was suddenly woken up at 6:30am in the morning to sirens and yelling on October 7, 2023.
Her neighbor was outside and dangerously near a terrorist, as an IDF soldier was trying to save her. Alla didn’t think twice and rushed outside to see what the screaming was about and the IDF soldier warned Alla to go back inside. But it was too late.
A different terrorist was now standing in front of Alla… they locked eyes.
“I slowly continued walking back home. I still can’t believe that he didn’t kill me,” admits Alla.
Meanwhile, her 101-year-old husband Lev who is hard of hearing was hiding at home. He tells us he fought in World War II against the Nazis and the sights he saw on October 7 reminded him of the battlefield.
It’s a miracle the couple survived. But their world has been changed forever after witnessing such horror. That’s why The Fellowship stepped in to provide basic needs for this elderly couple. We can be one small light in the darkness and show survivors of October 7 that they are not alone.
