Born during the horrors of the Holocaust, Maya has lived a life marked by survival, strength, and faith. As a child in war-torn Ukraine, she fled with her family to escape Nazi persecution—losing her grandparents and enduring years of hunger and fear.
Today, Maya lives with her husband in Israel, where she paints to express the memories she’s carried for decades. Even now, she remembers how it felt to be hungry and that’s why she’s so grateful for Fellowship food deliveries. “I remember going to bed hungry as a child, watching my mother cry because she had nothing to give us. That pain has stayed with me all my life,” Maya says.
We deliver monthly groceries and special holiday packages—including apples and honey for Rosh Hashanah. “I can breathe easier,” she says. “There is food in the refrigerator. I feel secure.”
This support—made possible by faithful Christians around the world—reminds Maya she is not alone. “It touches my heart,” she says. “Their support strengthens me and gives me hope.”
