“Is not wisdom found among the aged?
Does not long life bring understanding?” (Job 12:12)

While old age does bring knowledge and experience, and should bring with it comfortable golden years, the latter is sadly not often the case. Too many elderly not only lack the financial means to pay for necessities like food and medicine, but they also lack the companionship and love that all of us deserve.

That is why the Fellowship-supported Yad LaKashish (Hebrew for “Lifeline for the Elderly”) is so important. This workshop in Jerusalem not only provides jobs for the Holy City’s elderly, as well as dental care and a bus pass, but gives the program’s elderly members friendship and a place to go.

And it’s thanks to Fellowship friends like you that these precious souls are able to spend their final years with dignity. Shabbat shalom, friends.
