In the words of The Fellowship’s CEO and President, Yael Eckstein “Israel is a country who cherishes life.”

And we learn from i24 news that Israeli father Erick Peretz aimed to do just this for his disabled daughter Ruth, who has cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. The duo frequented festivals, as it brought Ruth joy to her life. In the moment when Erick and Ruth were looking for joy, they unfortunately found terror. Tragically, they were murdered by Hamas terrorists, leaving loved ones behind, reports i24 news:

“My father was really happy, and everything was fine,” his older daughter Yaarit Peretz, 26, told the Hebrew-language Ynet news site earlier in the week.

“For years he’s been going to these parties and taking Ruth with him, because it made her feel really good and she loved it. There were times when he would take her and she didn’t want to leave,” she said.

It’s all too sad a fact that a daughter and her father can’t even go to a music festival without being the target of a terrorist group. We ask all people to pray for the safety, protection, and comfort of Israel during this dark time.
