A planned U.S. military strike on Iran was postponed today by President Donald Trump, who said there is now a “very good chance” that an agreement can be reached to prevent further conflict and stop the regime from obtaining a nuclear weapon. According to The Jerusalem Post, Gulf state leaders urged Trump to delay any military action as renewed negotiations reportedly continue.
Trump has “further instructed them to be prepared to go forward with a full, large-scale assault of Iran, on a moment’s notice, in the event that an acceptable Deal is not reached,” he added.
In an interview with the New York Post on Monday, Trump stated that he is “not open” to making any concessions to Tehran following Iran’s disappointing response to peace deal negotiations.
“I can tell you they want to make a deal more than ever because they know what’s going to be happening soon,” Trump said.
When asked about his previous comment on Friday, in which he expressed a willingness to accept a 20-year moratorium on Iranian uranium enrichment, Trump replied, “I’m not open to anything right now.”
Iran’s proposal reportedly calls for lifting sanctions on Tehran, unfreezing financial assets, and ending the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. It also includes ending conflict on all fronts, including Lebanon. Meanwhile, the IDF continues anti-terror operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon as talks slowly progress between them.
This morning, the IDF intercepted a “suspicious aerial target” launched toward troop positions. A Hezbollah drone also struck a parked vehicle across the border in northern Israel, injuring at least one person. No sirens sounded before the attack. The IDF additionally reported that approximately 60% of Hezbollah’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon has been destroyed.
The Fellowship and our supporters praise God that dialogue was chosen over violence and pray for success along the long and difficult road of negotiations — both in the U.S.-Iran talks and the Israel-Lebanon discussions.
