U.S. strikes on Iran continued into this morning after the regime once again attacked a ship traveling through the Strait of Hormuz. The Times of Israel reports that Iran’s Foreign Ministry has suggested diplomacy is over in response to the latest strikes, which also continued over the weekend. Meanwhile, U.S. assets in Gulf states have reported Iranian missile attacks but have successfully intercepted them.

A US official said a few strikes targeted missile and air defense systems and paramilitary Revolutionary Guard boats. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss military operations.

The US military earlier Sunday said it hit some 140 targets, including missile and drone launch sites, ammunition dumps, communication equipment and other sites.

“A return to full-scale hostilities would have catastrophic consequences,” United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said in a statement.

The attacks were heavier than in recent days. The US has launched three rounds of airstrikes targeting Iran in the past week over attacks on ships heading through the strait using a route off Oman, seeking to avoid the Islamic Republic’s territorial waters.

Semiofficial Iranian news agencies reported that a navy officer was killed. Iran retaliated by attacking nations in the region hosting US military forces, while insisting it alone must control the strait and potentially charge vessels for traveling through it.

The Times of Israel also reported that a series of unclaimed airstrikes hit Iran after the United States completed another round of strikes on Thursday. No country or group has claimed responsibility, raising the possibility that one of the neighboring Gulf states may have become involved. In response, Iran launched strikes on Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, and Qatar. Today, Iran also threatened any Middle Eastern countries cooperating with the United States.

The Fellowship praises God that no U.S. casualties were reported this morning or over the weekend. We join our supporters in praying for the protection of U.S. service members, as well as for the people of Israel.
