The Israeli settlement of Ateret in the West Bank was the site of a terror attack against IDF soldiers this morning. The Jerusalem Post reports that the only suspect and attacker was killed by gunfire when he started to stab soldiers after being confronted. The two soldiers wounded in the attack were taken to Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital, where they are recovering.
“We arrived quickly at the scene and saw two males walking around fully conscious, with superficial injuries to their bodies,” MDA medicycle unit paramedic Bezalel Ben Hamo and MDA EMT Orly Shlomo said. “We provided initial medical treatment and evacuated them in MDA ambulances to the hospital in mild condition. The terrorist was neutralized.”
This incident follows an earlier terror attack, less than half a day prior, on Monday night, where a female soldier was lightly wounded in a ramming attack at an intersection in the area of Hebron.
The suspect was caught on Ateret security cameras on Route 465 and began attacking IDF soldiers after they searched him. He was shot attempting to flee the scene in the vehicle he had arrived in – presumably from the Bayt Rima area.
Both wounded IDF soldiers were around 20 years old, according to reports.
