The Times of Israel reports that the IDF raided Blida in southern Lebanon last night in a series of operations to take out Hezbollah infrastructure. This was going off reports that the Iran-backed terror group is using municipality buildings as a base of operations and cover. One suspect in the building was killed after being identified as a threat and resisting arrest. The shooting is currently under investigation by the IDF.
The municipal building, according to the IDF, was recently exploited by Hezbollah for “terror activity under the guise of civilian infrastructure.”
“This is another example of a pattern of behavior that endangers the residents of Lebanon and reflects Hezbollah’s cynical exploitation of civilian infrastructure for terror purposes,” the army said.
An Israeli military source confirmed that Lebanese army troops arrived at the area only after the IDF withdrew and stressed that there was no confrontation between the sides.
The IDF revealed that additional strikes were carried out today, also targeting Hezbollah assets. This included a rocket launcher and an underground tunnel network used by the terror group. The IDF calls the continued presence of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon a violation of the understanding between the two countries. Meanwhile, Lebanon called the operation an attack on its sovereignty as efforts to disarm the terror group stalled.
The Israeli military has eliminated over 330 Hezbollah terrorists, hit hundreds of sites, and conducted over 1,000 raids since the ceasefire requiring the terror group to leave southern Lebanon. This past week, a missile and training site and a high-ranking Hezbollah official were taken out by the IAF and IDF. Much like in Gaza, this ceasefire is proving to be shaky. The Fellowship and our generous supporters have faith and hope as we pray for the terror to subside and that shalom, peace, will also reign over the Israeli-Lebanon border.
