Russia Launched 120 Missiles, 90 Drones at Ukraine
Stand for Israel | November 18, 2024
We are heartbroken to learn that Ukraine has just suffered one of the worst missile and drone attacks since the start of the war.
After over two years of war, Ukraine is on high alert, especially as winter approaches, since Russia has targeted their power supply and grid in past years, reports The Jerusalem Post:
Russia launched around 120 missiles and 90 drones in a “massive” combined air strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday.
“The enemy’s target was our energy infrastructure throughout Ukraine. Unfortunately, there is damage to objects from strikes and falling debris,” he said in a statement on social media.
We heard from our partners on the ground that the Fellowship-supported orphanage and Jewish school in the area of the attack are all safe. But we are devastated to hear that as many as eight people lost their lives in the attack and that damage to infrastructure will threaten the safety of many as temperatures drop.
Thankfully, The Fellowship is on the ground continuing to evaluate the needs of the community as they experience power and water shortages. Over the past two years, The Fellowship has provided emergency aid and support to communities displaced by war, such as providing housing and bedding. We’ve provided generators to those who have lost electricity. And we continue to provide ongoing food, water, and medicine for families and elderly in need.
And we are all the more committed to supporting these Jewish communities in need as the war in Ukraine heats up.
