The Jerusalem Post reports that the Red Cross headed into Gaza again to collect the remains of two hostages held by Hamas. Both the terror group and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had confirmed that the exchange will take place today. Hamas revealed that it had uncovered the remain earlier this week during excavation in Gaza City.
“We are determined to return all of our fallen hostages. If I’m not mistaken, we are receiving two more now – we will not rest until we bring them all home,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday at an IDF combat officer graduation ceremony.
The Gaza terror organization claimed that it uncovered the remains of two hostages during excavations in Gaza City on Tuesday evening and named them in the announcement.
At the time of publication, the families of the slain hostages Hamas named in the announcement have not commented on it.
This week, Hamas staged the discovery of a former hostage’s remains in Gaza and an IDF reservist was killed by sniper fire in Rafah – testing the already fragile ceasefire and slowing down the return of the remaining hostages’ bodies. However, Israel remains committed to peace and ensuring that those murdered by Hamas receive a proper burial in Israel. With 11 hostage bodies remaining in Gaza, we pray that they will soon be returned, and the peace plan can move to the second phase.
