This weekend’s rocket attacks from Gaza – and the ensuing conflict between the IDF and Islamic Jihad terrorists – showed once again how Israel’s enemies are intent on destroying her. But, Operation Breaking Dawn also showed God’s mighty hand of protection at work. Ynet News’ Yoav Zitun reports on some of the numbers from the conflict:

The IDF on Monday said that more than 1,000 projectiles were launched from Gaza in the 55-hour offensive against the Islamic Jihad in Gaza, and 170 military targets were attacked…

The spokesperson said that two senior PIJ commanders were killed by Israeli raids and more than 10 militants were struck while attempting to fire rockets.

While 1,100 projectiles were fired from the Strip, 200 landed inside Gaza. Kochav said more Palestinians died from the failed launch of rockets than from IDF fire…

The spokesman said the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted 380, the IDF said adding that 170 targets of the PIJ were struck…

Additionally, the U.S.-supported Iron Dome air-defense system has once again shown its worth to Israel and her people, as our friends at Algemeiner report that the Iron Dome knocked down 97% of the more than 1,000 terrorist rockets that targeted the Israeli people during Operation Breaking Dawn:

Israel’s Iron Dome interceptor has shot down 97% of Palestinian rockets it has engaged during the weekend surge of Gaza fighting, the military said, an improvement in the performance of the US-backed system.

First fielded in 2011, Iron Dome — which launches guided missiles to hit incoming rockets and other short-range threats mid-air — was rated as 85% successful by Israeli and US defense officials. That increased to 90% in a Gaza war of 2012…

It has intercepted 97% of these during a flare-up of fighting with Palestinian Islamic Jihad militants in Gaza since Friday, an Israeli military spokesperson said, describing it as the system’s best performance so far…
