JNS sat down with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for an exclusive interview ahead of next week’s elections. While discussing the various challenges Israel faces, including the ongoing conflict with Iran, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel’s partnership with the United States is foundational to countering the Iranian regime, its nuclear ambitions, and its terrorist proxies that threaten the Holy Land. Netanyahu also discussed plans for judicial reform and building on decades of economic progress.
Now comes my dear friend, Donald Trump. We have a historic friendship. People liken it to [Franklin Delano] Roosevelt and [Winston] Churchill. Now, I’m not comparing me or Trump to either leader, but I’m saying that the partnership is unmatched. We’ve never had an Israeli prime minister and an American president work so closely together because we both believe we have to remove this threat once and for all. It’s like cancer, you know, you take out a lump of cancer, which we did by knocking out their nuclear program. But cancer can come back.
So the only way that we can make sure that Israel is safe—that we guarantee the future for our country, for our children, for our grandchildren—is by removing this regime. And President Trump basically called the Israeli public the other day and said, “Here, listen. I’m committed to doing it, but I’ll only do it with this prime minister.” He said there’s no one else. So if you’re concerned, as I’m sure you are, about the future of our country, then vote for me. Vote for Machal. Vote for Likud, because it is that partnership with America that can change history and give us a brilliant future and, by the way, give us more peace treaties.
Netanyahu also expressed interest in expanding Israel’s cybersecurity capabilities to combat the use of bots that flood social media with anti-Semitic content and false accusations against Israel, particularly targeting young Americans and Europeans. He pointed to recent events in France and Britain as examples of what he believes is the influence of these online campaigns and emphasized the need to counter them.
Lastly, Netanyahu reflected on the importance of the upcoming election for Israel’s democracy. He warned that making concessions to terrorist organizations seeking Israel’s destruction could compromise the country’s security and the principles upon which it stands.
The Fellowship and our supporters praise God for the deep and enduring bond between the United States and Israel as both nations prepare to go to the polls. Whatever choices the people of these free nations make, we pray that their decisions will help usher in shalom—peace.
