Rachel Goldberg-Polin eulogizing her son, Hersh, who was murdered along with five other hostages by Hamas:

Hersh, like most parents, Dada and I often would talk about who you would become, what you would be like when you ‘grew up’, what you would do, what you would look like, what kind of parent you would be. But now you will be forever our beautiful boy. You will stay energetic, kind, patient, curious, funny, irreverent, pensive. Forever handsome. Forever young. Forever my sweet boy.

Remember the names of those who died at the terrorists’ hands: Hersh, Carmel, Alex, Eden, Or, Almog. Remember, and pray, for the many loved ones they left behind, who now must make sense of life without them.

And may all, during this time of grief, remember God’s promise: “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem” (Isaiah 66:13).
