While the White House has urged the IDF to act only against immediate threats in Gaza, Israel’s military has remained on the lookout for hidden threats—some of which were eliminated in the last 24 hours. The Jerusalem Post reports that the IAF conducted strikes in Gaza that eliminated two Hamas commanders, one of whom participated in the October 7 attacks. The IDF also announced that two tunnels used by the terror group were sealed around the same time.

The IDF’s Gaza Division Combat Engineers were deployed to seal the tunnels, which had a combined length of more than two kilometers.

Drone footage released by the IDF shows the tunnels running underground at length, packed with sandbags.

The IDF also said that troops operating in the area are working in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, while maintaining that the IDF continues to work to remove immediate threats.

The IDF says that these tunnels and commanders posed an immediate threat to IDF troops in the area. The tunnels were also found along the Yellow Line. The IDF announced yesterday that four Hamas terrorists were targeted in a separate airstrike—all four were company and platoon commanders, according to security officials. A terror cell in another part of Gaza was also struck by the air force last week.

U.S. special envoy Jared Kushner says the terror group must honor its commitments to disarm or the IDF will be fully allowed to operate against it. Kushner met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday and with Hamas leaders in Cairo on Sunday. Kushner described the terror group as “saying all the right things” during the meeting, but its commitment naturally remains questionable.

The Fellowship and our supporters pray for and keep the brave men and women of the IDF in our hearts every day during this time. After three years of war in Gaza, our prayers for shalom, peace, remain constant.
