The IDF has confirmed that overnight strikes against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon killed two members of the terror group. The Jerusalem Post reports that the two strikes occurred in the Bint Jbeil and Blida areas and come as the IDF continues to thwart Hezbollah reestablishment activities, which included gathering intelligence on IDF troops to carry out attacks on Israel. At the same time, the IDF has begun conducting strikes against additional Hezbollah sites found across southern Lebanon.
Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic spokesperson, released a statement on X/Twitter directing Lebanese civilians to evacuate buildings adjacent to where Hezbollah is allegedly attempting to rebuild terror capabilities.
“Urgent Alert to Residents of Southern Lebanon, Specifically in the Village of Deir Qanun Al-Nahr,” Adraee wrote. “The IDF will attack in the near term military infrastructure belonging to the terrorist Hezbollah in order to address the prohibited attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild its activities in the area.”
Tuesday’s strikes targeted terrorists “involved in reestablishment activities for the Hezbollah terrorist organization” and “observed gathering intelligence on IDF troops,” according to an IDF statement released on Wednesday morning.
The IDF cited terrorist “violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon” as the reason for the strikes, affirming its commitment to “continue to operate to remove any threat and protect the State of Israel.”
Like Hamas, Hezbollah operates using civilian infrastructure as cover, as well as sites for making weapons and training terrorists. These past few weeks, the ceasefire has been more than tested with rebuilding efforts being tackled by the IDF in different regions of Lebanon. The Lebanese government has barely committed to disarming the Iran-backed terror group, with Israeli officials saying the group is rebuilding faster than it is being disarmed.
As more Hezbollah rebuilding operations are discovered, The Fellowship and our generous supporters keep the men and women of the IDF in our prayers as they continue the good fight against terror on all of Israel’s borders to not just protect her people, but free their neighbors from the influence of it. Only then can true shalom, peace, shine in the Middle East.
