Amid an approaching deadline related to the Strait of Hormuz and renewed threats from U.S. President Donald Trump against Iran, the IDF has completed an operation targeting key infrastructure across the country. Railways and bridges used by the Iranian regime were destroyed, significantly hindering its ability to transport missile launchers and other weapons used against Israel, according to The Jerusalem Post. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also stated today that the IDF is intensifying its attacks on the Islamic Republic.
According to a Reuters report citing Iranian media, the railways in Karaj and Qazvin were targeted during the strikes, while bridges in Kashan and Tabriz-Zanjan were also destroyed in the latest round of attacks.
Army Radio reported that 10 bridges and railways were targeted during the strikes, with the main objective of the operation being to destroy the Iranian regime’s weapon transfer capabilities, as well as damage the Iranian economy.
After the reports of the attacks on the bridges and railways, the IDF said that it had “completed a wide-scale wave of strikes targeting dozens of infrastructure sites belonging to the Iranian terror regime in several areas across Iran.”
The IDF also announced that a strike carried out on Monday successfully targeted Iran’s Shiraz petrochemical compound, reportedly the last site used to produce explosive chemical components for ballistic missiles. On the same day, the IDF struck the South Pars facility in southern Iran, the largest of its kind in the country.
The IDF continues its campaign against Iran’s air defense systems, with more than 130 systems reportedly destroyed. Footage of these strikes was released today. Additional strikes this morning targeted locations in Tehran and Qom.
Iranian missiles were launched toward central Israel this morning but were intercepted. Falling fragments struck several locations, though no injuries or fatalities were reported.
