The IDF carried out a series of strikes in Gaza after a reservist officer was wounded by terror operatives in the northern part of the Strip. The Times of Israel reports that troops came under fire from multiple terrorists last night, marking another violation of the ceasefire agreement. Despite the incident, the Rafah Border Crossing remains open.

According to the IDF, troops of the Alexandroni Brigade came under fire from multiple gunmen during operations on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line, which splits the Strip between areas controlled by Israel and Hamas.

In response, the military said, tanks opened fire on the gunmen, and airstrikes were carried out.

The IDF said the incident was a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire.

The seriously wounded officer was taken to a hospital, and his family was notified.

Hamas reported casualties following the strikes, though the terror group does not differentiate between operatives and civilians.

Another recent update from The Times of Israel reported that a Hamas commander who invaded Nir Oz on October 7 was among the targets in the retaliatory strikes. Additional reports of Hamas openly defying the ceasefire have also emerged, including drone footage showing terrorists transporting weapons while using an ambulance as cover.

Efforts remain underway to preserve the fragile peace in Gaza, as the question of whether Hamas will voluntarily disarm grows increasingly uncertain. IDF soldiers continue to face significant dangers in the Strip, much as they did during the war.

The Fellowship and our supporters pray for the safety of these brave men and women, and for all those working toward a demilitarized Gaza.
