The Jerusalem Post reports that the IDF fired at four terrorists who had crossed the Yellow Line established by the ceasefire. This was as the Israeli military was dismantling tunnels used by Hamas in Rafah. Three of the terrorists were killed in the exchange. This is not the first time terrorists have provoked the IDF since the ceasefire began. A separate incident involving another Yellow Line crossing in Khan Yunis occurred this past week.

The troops in Rafah identified the terrorists after they emerged from an underground tunnel. The IDF assessed that the four Gazans they identified are part of the approximately 200 terrorists that remain in the “terror pocket” in Rafah.

Assessments are currently underway to determine the efficacy of the strike.

No injuries were reported amongst IDF troops, the military added.

As part of the U.S. brokered peace plan last month, the Yellow Line represents where the IDF maintains their presence. Since then, the IDF has completed a withdrawal from Gaza. However, Hamas has been stalling, with around 200 terrorists still being reported within the tunnels behind the Yellow Line. International efforts to remove them are currently underway.

At the same time, four hostages who were taken and murdered on October 7, 2023 – Meny Godard, Staff-Sergeant Major Ran Gvili, Dror Or, and Sudthisak Rinthalak – remain in Gaza. The Israeli government believes this is to hinder the transition to Hamas’ disarmament.

The Fellowship and our generous supporters pray for the stability of the ceasefire, for the remaining hostages’ families, and for shalom, peace, through a smooth disarmament process.
