The IDF has been striking Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, The Jerusalem Post reports. The efforts are to stop the terror group from rebuilding and rearming and has included coordinated strikes on training compounds where terrorists learn how to carry out brutal attacks on IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians. Israel has said that the continued presence and operations of these compounds are a violation of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon. Despite the ongoing strikes, there have yet to be any security concerns for Israelis in the north.

“The IDF struck a training and qualification compound used by Hezbollah’s Radwan Force to conduct training and courses for the organization’s terrorists,” the statement said, noting that another training camp was struck earlier this week.

Israel’s N12 News reported that Hezbollah has three weeks before the disarmament deadline.

The IDF reported that as part of the training conducted in the compound, terrorists underwent shooting exercises and additional training on the use of various types of weapons, intended for planning and executing terrorist attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.

The IDF has also increased operations near the northern border this week. On Monday, another training camp like this one was targeted, along with a missile launch site and weapon storage facilities being used by Hezbollah. Before the strikes were carried out, the IDF issued evacuation warnings to areas in southern Lebanon, to avoid civilian casualties.

With repeated Yellow Line violations by Hamas in the past week and these rebuilding efforts by Hezbollah, it seems that the terror groups are not as committed to peace as they claim to be. Peace, as much as we pray for it, is elusive in the Middle East. But we thank God for the respite the ceasefires have helped provide and remain steadfast in our prayers for total shalom, peace.
