While U.S. actions and Iranian strikes have been paused following Tuesday evening’s ceasefire agreement, the IDF continues operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Israel and the United States have stated that the agreement does not apply to the terror group, which continues to launch rockets into northern communities in the Holy Land. According to The Times of Israel, the secretary to Hezbollah’s leader was eliminated in strikes carried out yesterday evening.
The military said Thursday afternoon, meanwhile, that Hezbollah had fired some 30 rockets from Lebanon at northern Israel since the morning. There were no reports of injuries or damage as the rockets were either intercepted or allowed to strike open areas.
The IDF said that overnight it struck two “central” Litani River crossings that were used by the Iran-backed terror group to transfer “thousands of weapons, rockets, and launchers” into southern Lebanon.
Additionally, some 10 weapons depots, rocket launchers and Hezbollah headquarters were struck in southern Lebanon, the military added.
The IDF also confirmed that troops in southern Lebanon captured a terror tunnel containing weapons, including explosives, rockets, launchers, and grenades. The Israeli Air Force has continued conducting strikes in the same region. Hezbollah launched rockets throughout Wednesday night, with sirens sounding in the Galilee and border communities; no injuries or damage were reported.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has requested that Lebanon be included in the ceasefire agreement as Israel intensifies strikes against the terror group. The IDF has stated that the Lebanese army has failed to prevent Hezbollah’s expansion into southern Lebanon, where it can directly threaten Israel.
The first round of U.S. negotiations with Iran is scheduled for Saturday, even as clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah continue. Key points of uncertainty include Lebanon’s inclusion in the ceasefire and the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Fellowship and its supporters pray for a resolution that leads to shalom, peace, and for the safety of IDF soldiers still fighting against terror.
