The Israeli Air Force successfully intercepted and took out a rocket launched from the central Gaza Strip by Palestinian terrorists on Sunday night, JNS reported. No injuries or damage was reported as sirens were triggered by the attack. This comes as the IDF continues to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in northern and central Gaza in preparation for a larger operation.
The IDF said on Monday that soldiers over the past 24 hours struck many rocket launchers aimed at Israel in southern Gaza.
In parallel, forces in northern and central Gaza continued dismantling terrorist infrastructure above and below ground, eliminating terrorists and targeting additional military sites in support of ground operations.
Last week, IDF troops from the Kfir Brigade identified an armed terrorist cell operating near the “Old Cemetery” in Khan Yunis, the military said in an earlier update Monday.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said that the military has approved the next stage of the Gaza war and “will continue striking until Hamas is defeated.” He also mentioned that the hostages are always at the top of the IDF’s priority list. The next stage, “Operation Gideon’s Chariots,” will see a temporary takeover of Gaza by the IDF to defeat Hamas.
