Israel has received confirmation from Hamas that another body of a hostage will be turned through the Red Cross over later this evening, The Times of Israel reports. With this return, the number of deceased hostages that remain in Gaza is now seven. This comes after three IDF soldiers who died fighting on October 7 were returned by the terror group.
Earlier today, Hamas said it had discovered the body of a hostage during excavations in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, “inside the Yellow Line” — that is, within the area under Israeli control.
No further details on the deceased hostage are known, as bodies are sent for forensic examination and identification right after they are returned to Israel. Incidents around the Yellow Line in Gaza separating IDF-controlled territory and Hamas-controlled territory have been reported in the last couple of days, with several terrorists being shot and one killed attempting to cross the line yesterday and early today.
