A Hezbollah rocket headed for Israel’s north landed on a soccer field in Majdal Shams on Saturday evening, killing 12 children and teenagers, reports The Jerusalem Post:

In a pivotal escalation of the war between Hezbollah and Israel, the terrorist group on Saturday evening launched an Iranian-made rocket towards the North, hitting a soccer field near a playground in the Druze town of Majdal Shams.

There were 12 children and teenagers killed, all between the ages of 10 and 20, when a rocket struck a soccer field. At least 19 were wounded to varying degrees, including six seriously injured, three moderately, and 10 lightly injured, including those suffering from anxiety attacks.

Today, a funeral was held for the 12th child killed after it was confirmed he was killed by the rocket blast, reports The Times of Israel:

The boy had been considered missing for some 24 hours following the Saturday afternoon strike in northern Israel that killed 11 other children, all of whom had been on a soccer field when the Iranian-made rocket impacted, killing them before they could make it to safety.

Police said on Sunday evening that new findings at the scene of the strike had confirmed that Ebraheem was also killed, putting an end to his family’s hope that he had fled the scene of the strike and survived.
