The IDF and Shin Bet announced today that Israeli forces dismantled five weapons storage facilities belonging to Hamas in Gaza. Ynet reports that the facilities were found inside mosques and near humanitarian aid infrastructure.

According to a joint statement, the facilities contained rockets, weapons, explosive devices, grenades, ammunition and other military equipment intended for attacks against Israeli troops operating in Gaza.

The IDF and Shin Bet said the locations represented another example of what they described as Hamas’ systematic use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes.

The military said advance warnings were issued before the strikes in an effort to reduce harm to civilians, adding that precise munitions and aerial surveillance were also used.

Israeli forces remain deployed in the area under the ceasefire framework and will continue operating against what the IDF described as immediate threats.

More terror threats continue to emerge this week. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah on Sunday, who called on Islamic countries to take action against Israel. Fadlallah presents Hezbollah as a “resistance movement,” and has threatened that efforts to disarm the group could lead to civil war in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, last week the IDF held a funeral for Sgt. First Class Yehuda Katz, who went missing 44 years ago during the First Lebanon War. Hundreds of people lined the streets of Jerusalem as he was laid to rest at the Mount of Olives Cemetery. His remains were recovered in a special operation by the Mossad. Israel also discovered the wreckage of the Altalena arms ship more than 75 years after it sank during Israel’s War of Independence. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced plans to recover the wreckage.

The Fellowship and our supporters pray for the IDF—that those serving today will be protected and that those who fell defending Israel will never be forgotten.
