To mark the two-year anniversary of the horrific October 7 attacks, The Fellowship held a Flags of Fellowship memorial event in Israel at Kibbutz Nir Oz, which saw some of the worst of Hamas’ terror, with a quarter of residents kidnapped or murdered on that dark day two years ago. Our President and Global CEO Yael Eckstein and many of The Fellowship’s Israeli staff attended, along with several guest speakers, including Eshkol Regional Council Mayor Michal Uziyahu, Eshkol Regional Council Security Chief Ilan Keith Isaacson, and several residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz.

“We stand here now, two years later,” Yael told the crowd in her opening remarks. “There was the day before October 7th. There was the day before Simchat Torah, and then there was the day after. The world and none of us will ever be the same. There was a darkness here that we never dreamed we would experience in our lifetimes. The world said never again, never again, never again.

“And then, in an instant, it happened. We’re standing now on the broken ground. We’re standing on the ground where terrorists roamed, where people were killed, where children were kidnapped, where homes were burned, where our brothers and sisters were being held just a few miles away in conditions we never thought possible. We stand here with brokenness. We stand here with tears. We stand here with remembrance. We stand here with hope.”

As part of the event, 1,200 Israeli flags were placed in memory of the 1,200 people who were murdered on October 7. Flags of Fellowship is much more than a memorial – it is a movement that more than 1,000 churches, synagogues, and educational institutions participate in by donating and planting flags of their own to show their solidarity with Israel and her people.

In her speech, Fellowship Manager of Programs Moran Ben-David acknowledged the gratitude that all of Israel feels for this amazing display of support: “My esteemed guests, our partners in the journey, in pain, in heroism, and in revival, are the millions of Christians around the world, the sanctuaries of life, and the beloved of humanity, who hold together with us the ceremony of heroism and remembrance. Our enemies tried to cut off our lives, but you, with fortitude, continue to stand by our side to continue the journey of life,”

Join the movement today and donate a flag to stand in solidarity with Israel for this year’s Flags of Fellowship. Show your support and share your hope by also registering for 2026’s event.
