In the last five years, The Fellowship has donated 363 vehicles to organizations and municipalities across Israel. These range from ambulances and food trucks to motorcycles and bicycles. They’re donated in response to the various crises the Holy Land faces, such as providing elderly transportation vehicles during wartime or supplying medical centers and firefighters with equipment in the aftermath of an attack. Each one of these vehicles has a purpose, and their drivers are the heroes behind them.
The Fellowship invited these drivers to a special event where they can reconnect with staff—the Fellowship on Wheels vehicle showcase. The event took place on Monday at Yad La-Shiryon in Latrun, an Armored Corps memorial site and museum, and was attended by more than 100 first responders. Fellowship President and Global CEO Yael Eckstein also attended with staff and led an appreciation ceremony honoring the drivers.
She said, “Here in Israel, as I stood right outside the mountains of Jerusalem and met hundreds of first responders with these vehicles and lifesaving gear because of The Fellowship, I realized that God has placed us here for such a time as this. Christians in America present the donation that is a representation of their prayers and suddenly it turns into lifesaving aid in Israel.”
The vehicle showcase featured 90 vehicles and 50 motorcycles and electric bicycles. As Yael said, each one is a testament to The Fellowship’s support for first responders over the last five years. They run toward danger while everyone else runs in the opposite direction, never knowing what they’ll find or what dangers await them. But with the right tools, they can accomplish incredible things, and The Fellowship and our donors help provide those tools. We continue to pray for and support these brave individuals through every crisis they face.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
