Soup Kitchen Meal Deliveries Continue in War Zone

Israel’s northern border has become a war zone. Rockets from the Hezbollah terror group make life there unimaginable as Israelis live under fear of constant rocket attacks.

No one is safe when terrorist rockets fall… not elderly, or families, and not even the very places meant to provide care and protection during times of crisis: like a Fellowship-supported soup kitchen.

The Beit Batya Soup Kitchen was hit directly from a Hezbollah rocket and tensions remain even now. While the rocket caused significant damage to the soup kitchen’s roof, they continued to operate and deliver emergency meals to those who need it most… people like Yenta.

“Despite the war, the cooked meals continue to arrive every day,” says Yenta. “And I don’t have to worry about not having anything to eat.” We told Yenta that the Beit Batya soup kitchen was damaged by a direct hit from a missile a few days ago, and her hands started shaking. “I didn’t know about that because the food kept coming like every day, even when there are constant explosions.”

Many of our elderly recipients stayed in their homes as rockets fell, trapped inside waiting for the terror to end.

It’s a miracle precious Yenta survived the attacks. And it’s a miracle that Beit Batya Soup Kitchen continues to operate in this war zone, even after being struck by a missile. That’s why the hundreds of Fellowship meals YOU helped us deliver daily to elderly trapped in their homes like Yenta are so important.
