Fellowship-supported Melabev is an organization in Israel that provides help in the community for individuals who are living with various forms of dementia. The Fellowship provided a grant to purchase a transportation vehicle that will be a shuttle for the elderly to and from the day centers in Jerusalem. At the day centers, the elderly participate in various activities that help prevent the progression of dementia. In total, 360 elderly will use the shuttle each week.

David, one of the elderly who uses the shuttle told us: “I come here every day. We sing, we have lectures, there is also a group of high school youth who come and play cognitive games with us, which is very important and helps our memory. Most of us are in our eighties, and we’re very pleased to come here. We wait for the transportation which is very comfortable.”
