An expansion of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem was made possible through a matching grant from The Fellowship last year. This week, Fellowship staff attended the inauguration of the newly completed Emergency Medicine Center, which includes 14 new intensive care beds. The renovated space is equipped with advanced medical equipment and protective features, significantly expanding the hospital’s ability to provide urgent and emergency care for patients suffering from illnesses and injuries.
Hospital staff and leaders, including Hadassah National President Carol Ann Schwartz, Board of Directors Chairperson Dalia Itzik, Hospital Director Prof. Yoram Weiss, and the director of the Emergency Medicine Department, also attended the event.
Schwartz said as she introduced the new space, “This is what can be achieved when people of faith and people of goodwill come together for a common purpose. Your investment, this investment of so many, in emergency care strengthens our ability to provide world class treatment, respond to urgent medical needs, and offer hope and healing to each person who comes through this door.”
Dr. Ahmad Nama also shared that one of the greatest challenges in providing emergency care is overcoming technical limitations. Thanks to The Fellowship’s support, the hospital has been able to address critical gaps in its medical capabilities, including the addition of state-of-the-art intensive care beds. He expressed his deepest gratitude to the donors and supporters who made this project possible.
The Fellowship has supported Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for years, funding improvements such as a new MRI machine and trauma unit, as well as medical scholarships for at-risk immigrants and single mothers.
“Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security” (Jeremiah 33:6).
