As children everywhere begin the new school year amid an ongoing pandemic, some Israeli parents have more to worry about than back to school preparations. Thankfully, The Fellowship is providing more than 700 backpacks and school supplies to Israeli children through our partnership with the Yad B’Yad organization.

One mother wrote to The Fellowship explaining how difficult it’s been financially raising six children all by herself since the start of the global health crisis.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, I am not able to work and we are literally living from hand to mouth. I don’t even have money for food or electricity,” she explains. Most days, she’s more concerned about putting food on the table.

As her children prepare for the school year, a special surprise came just in time from The Fellowship: new backpacks and school supplies!

Their mother felt touched by this kindness: “I can’t even think about purchasing backpacks and school equipment! Thank you for your help.”

As their mother continues to make sure they have the care they need, she can be assured that with these new backpacks and supplies, her children will have all they need to begin the new school year with readiness and joy.

The High Holy Days are fast approaching. Help a Jewish person in need celebrate this sacred time today.
