Project Spotlight: Armored Security Vehicles
The Fellowship | January 30, 2025
Thanks to all those who love Israel, like YOU, we are providing security and essential equipment to save lives. We delivered an armored vehicle to an area in the north recently that had suffered from damaging and life-threatening Hezbollah missiles. These armored security vehicles make it safer for first responders to act immediately when a missile falls and reach those who need help. These vehicles also bring peace of mind to the people living in border towns who know that they are especially vulnerable when rockets fall – as many only have about 15 seconds to reach a shelter before it’s too late.
‘I Feel Safer Now’
It’s a sad truth that Israelis expect their lives to be interrupted by code red sirens. But even though Regina had a safe room just outside her home, she knew she actually needed one inside her home to make it to shelter within the 15 seconds she has while living on the border with Lebanon.
So when the border tensions were getting more intense and missiles from Hezbollah were a real threat, this lack of shelter in her home worried her – a lot.
Before the war, she and her husband had renovated their house into their dream home – a place they figured they’d raise their two young children. But then the war started, and life changed dramatically.
On the day their home was hit by a missile from Hezbollah, thank God, Regina, her husband, and two young children weren’t home. Her husband was at work, and she was shopping with her kids at the mall. Regina says she heard the explosion from the safe area of the mall. She didn’t realize the missile had hit her home until her phone started flooding with messages. “It was only when I started receiving countless messages and calls that I realized the missile had hit our neighborhood, and then I got a call from security forces who wanted to check if we were okay and told me the house had been hit directly,” says Regina.
While Regina and her family must now renovate their home before they can live there again, they are just happy to have survived. Regina was relieved to learn that The Fellowship works to help bring security and comfort to northern Israel, like through donating armored security vehicles so first responders can drive through missile attacks to rescue those injured.
“The most important thing is that we are alive, and that’s the greatest miracle that happened to us,” explains Regina. “I am very happy that thanks to The Fellowship, the security forces in the city now have an armored vehicle that allows them to reach any place and assist the residents if needed. I feel safer now. Thank you.”
